Corvallis Hour Exchange celebrates with music, sales at annual festival

Buying local takes on another meaning at Corvallis HOUR Exchange events.

Members of the Corvallis HOUR Exchange use their own form of paper currency, called Hours, to buy goods and services. The bills are numbered and feature images of local spots such as Marys Peak and Dimple Hill.

Sunday afternoon, nine members set up shop at the 10th annual HOUR Traders Folk Festival in the parking lot of FireWorks Restaurant & Bar on Third Street. In addition to vendor booths, the festival also featured live music by eight local bands, dancing, arts and crafts.
